PDKIDS, for kids living with parents who have Parkinson's PDKIDS is a mailing list for Kids who love someone with Parkinson's Disease. It was established as a forum for kids affected by PD to have a place to share with each other. Kids may discuss anything they wish in confidence (to the extent that an Internet list will allow). If you are interested in Parkinson's Disease but aren't a "Kid", then there are a number of general mailing lists for Parkinson's Disease. Using the List Joining PDKIDS To join PDKIDS, send an email to join-pdkids@lyris.coles.org.uk Sending email to PDKIDS Once you have joined PDKIDS you can send an email to the list at the address pdkids@lyris.coles.org.uk. Using the list server web pages Once you have joined PDKIDS, if you want to check the list archive or change your subscription options, you can do so from the Lyris web interface at http://lists.nipltd.com/cgi-bin/lyris.pl?enter=pdkids. Contacting the list owners To contact the list owners, send an email to owner-pdkids@lyris.coles.org.uk. About the list Ownership PDKIDS is a joint project between the American Parkinson's Disease Association's Young PD Information & Referral Center and the Adrienne Coles Memorial Trust. PDKIDS is hosted as a public service by New Information Paradigms. To contact the list owners, send an email to owner-pdkids@lyris.coles.org.uk. Acceptable Subjects Anything related to living in a family with Parkinson's Disease. Other sources of advice If you want advice about specific PD treatment issues, talk to a doctor. The list is provided as an opportunity for children to share concerns, information and support regarding living in a family where Parkinson's Disease is present. Privacy Subscriber names and personal email addresses will be automatically deleted from email headers posted to the list to ensure confidentiality. The "Adult Presence" on the list will be light, serving only to provide technical guidance and to ensure the conversation remains constructive. Initially, the "adults" are Simon Coles (a PD Kid himself) and Susan Reese, Director of the APDA Young Information & Referral Center (which specializes in the needs of the younger PD community and their family members). The list archive is private to list members. If you are not on the list you will not be able to see it.
